NFL Betting – Falcons The Favorites To Win The NFC
When New Orleans Saints kicker Garrett Hartley missed a chip shot field goal that resulted in an early season betting on NFL loss to the Atlanta Falcons, head coach Sean Payton could only shake his head. If he knew the difference it would make in the end, he might have chosen to waive his fist as well. That missed kick pushed the defending Super Bowl champions back to one of two wild card spots in the NFC, while the Atlanta Falcons took top spot. While the Saints travel to face the lowly Seattle Seahawks this week, the Falcons get the week off to rest and home field advantage for next round.
The missed kick also had a major influence on the online sports betting odds for the Super Bowl, as the Saints registered at a 12-to-1 odds, while the Falcons got the title as favorites in the NFC at just 5-to-1. Atlanta may actually be just the team with the better luck and easier schedule, but as it stands right now they rank ahead of New Orleans as the NFC favorites. The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers are both somehow ahead of the Saints as well at 10-to-1 odds, while the Philadelphia Eagles rank tied with New Orleans at 12-to-1. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out in the end, but for now it’s the Falcons that are the favorites to win it all in the NFC.
