Kentucky Derby Betting – Favorite Dialed In For 2011 Kentucky Derby

Kentucky DerbyThe picture for the 2011 Kentucky derby betting race hardly changed with the post position draw on Wednesday, although it did come a little further into focus. While a couple of top contenders drew unfavorable starting position for this year’s Run for the Roses, the consensus favorite solidified its position ahead of the field with a fortunate draw. Dialed In will start out of post eight as the 4-1 favorite, and it would be a big surprise to see the Nick Zito-trained Thoroughbred place anything other than first.

While the Florida Derby winner is the favorite anyway, the fact that some of the other top contenders didn’t have the same luck in the post position draw only enhances its chances. The horse that was supposed to have the best chance of beating out Dialed In was Uncle Mo, which will still be the 9-2 runner up in terms of odds but will have to start on the outside out of post 18. That will only further hurt Uncle Mo’s chances, as is the case with Arkansas Derby winner Archarcharch, which will start on the outside rail. The runner up at both the Louisiana and Arkansas Derby will have the third-best odds at 6-1, but caught post 19 out of the draw. Dialed in was already the online sports betting favorite to win at Kentucky before the post positions were determined, but in light of the fortunate draw it would be a major letdown if it finished anything less than first.
