UFC Betting – Jackson Looking Forward To Matchup Against Hamill At UFC 130

Matt HamillWhen the Ultimate Fighting Championships’ president Dana White approached Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and asked him if he would be willing to take a No. 1 contender spot for the UFC Light Heavyweight championship against Jon Jones, Jackson elected to take what many feel might be the smarter route for the former champion. Jackson was supposed to originally face Thiago Silva in another bout but the latter failed a drug test and so it turned to Matt Hamill to be his replacement for the upcoming fight. When UFC Lightweight champion Frankie Edgar was forced to withdraw from the event as well as his No. 1 contender Gray Maynard, the Rampage fight was pushed up to the main event, and although this fight will not have the championship title on the line, it should make for one crazy furry of fists a week after the Preakness Stakes betting race.

Hamill has strung together five straight wins including the only victory over the current UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jones, although that decision did come via disqualification. Still, the two-time Fight of the Night winner is on the radar near the top of the division and a sports betting win over Jackson would be huge. Rampage has been inconsistent over the past couple of years, but bounced back from a tough loss to Rashad Evans to take down Lyota Machida at UFC 123. That has him back on the map in the light heavyweight division as well, but only one of these fighters can win this bout. The edge goes to Jackson based on aggression and experience, but don’t count on the heart of Hamill.
