This weekend MLB betting enthusiasts will be paying close attention to all the latest trends, as interleague play picks up for another season. Heading into this weekend, several teams from both leagues are in an absolute baseball betting dog fight to move up in their divisions, in hopes of qualifying for the playoffs later in the season. What’s more, fans that handicap how teams play during interstate games, will be happy to know there are several this weekend. Today we will be looking at two interstate interleague matchups.

Battle of Missouri: Kansas City Royals at St. Louis Cardinals – Believe it or not, the 2011 interleague matchup between KC and St. Louis is considered by many, we included, to be the most meaningful since the 1985 World Series, in which the Royals won their last title. This year’s matchup, features at Kansas City team that has should a tenacity not seen in Royals country for quite some time.

Conversely, the Cardinals are once again their usual strong selves, despite missing several key players, including staff ace Adam Wainwright. The Cardinals have struggles against the Royals since 2007 as the teams have split the 28 matchups, going 14 – 14. What’s more, the Royals have provided excellent value as road dogs against St. Louis, as the team has gone seven and seven as the road dog.

Battle Of The Bay Bridge: San Francisco Giants at Oakland Athletics – The battle of the Bay Bridge has been one of the most intriguing interstate matchups over the last few years. Entering the 2011 season, both the Giants and Athletics had exceptional pitching rotations, which would lead fans to make a profit by taking the under in each game of a series. However, it should be understood, that the Giants are a much better team than the Athletics, as although the teams have gone under the total, the Giants have won 13 of 17 since 2008.
