Early Super Bowl Odds

NFL

In a couple of weeks from now, NFL betting enthusiasts will have a better idea, of which teams stand a chance at winning the 2012 Super Bowl, as training camp will open for the 2011 – 12 seasons. Right now, the labor dispute is entering its fourth month. However, for sports betting websites, this hasn’t stopped them from taking early action on the Super Bowl. Here is a look at the early odds.

The New England Patriots similar to the New York Yankees of the MLB, despite not making it to the Super Bowl finals for the last three years, enter the 2011 season as the odds on favorite to win the title. New England has maintained its lead over the other 31 teams in the NFL, with a four to one odds line to win the title. The Patriots were an impressive 14 and two during the regular season in 2010, before bowing out in the second round to AFC East rivals, the New York Jets.

Speaking of the Jets, New York is a 12 to one favorite to finally get over the hump and make it back to the Super Bowl. Over the last couple of seasons, the Jets have gone from the basement of the AFC to the AFC Championship game twice. Unfortunately in both cases, the Jets were unable to win the game, and now have the choke artist label tied to their name.

After winning their first Super Bowl title in nearly 18 years, the Green Bay Packers own the second best odds going into the 2011 season, at six to one. Green Bay showed that anything is possible in the NFL, as although they lost the majority of their starting roster in the first couple of weeks of last season, the Packers were able to win the title. This year, with a healthy roster, Green Bay will look to repeat as champions.
